1. Your information is not enough
People often claim they are eating healthy. The problem is their worng understanding about what healthy means. There are tons of information in the media about what is good food and what is bad food, but truth is much of it is wrong and misleading. Thus, people who try eating right, instead of improving their health only make it worse! When was the last time you bought low fat milk? Why did you buy it? Because it is healthy? Low fat products, high fiber foods and other products claiming to be high- and low- in something ARE NOT HEALTHY! There is one rule, that you should follow in order to make right food choices…” If man created it, don’t eat it!”. Buy real food- meat,eggs,vegetables,fruits, nuts and seeds!
2. You have small budget and you think that healthy, equals expensive.
Most people are mislead that healthy eating, will empty your wallet. As a person, who eats healthy, I want to assure you, that buying good food, won’t leave you without a buck! From my personal experience, I see that some of my friends who DO NOT eat healthy, spend a lot more money on food than I do!
The products you buy on the go, which have higher prices, because of package, brand, and other stuff included to, can’t be cheaper than homemade food. Do you know how much it costs to buy a piece of meat from the supermarket, some vegetable that is in season and have that for lunch? It is cheaper, than buying a pizza, a soda and some dessert! The difference between healthy food and junk food, is that the first one will keep you full longer, because your body takes what it needs to function properly, and the second one even robs your body from the nutrients your body needs!
Another reason that healthy isn’t more expensive than junk food could be viewed in a longer perspective. Have you thought how much money you spend on medications? Enough, right? All the junk you give to your body, only destroys you! All the diseases you have are just a signal from your body screaming for help! Why wouldn’t you help it? Eat healthy and you will give less money for medications, plus you will feel great!
3. You are worried that you won’t have anything to eat when you are not home
That is a justified discomfort! There is a bunch of fast food restaurants, food markets and you could rarely find a good place to grab some healthy food! Do you know, how many times I walked in the park, saw people selling pop corn, hot dogs, ice cream, and I thought “ Couldn’t they sell boiled eggs, meat, vegetables or fruits!”. Because I am sure it won’t happen soon, if it happens at all, don’t get discouraged! There is always a solution! It is called , prepare your food and store it in tupperware !
When I wake up, one of the first things I do is prepare my food for the day. Every day I divide my food into portions, put it in boxes, which I take with me, so I can make sure I will always have something healthy to eat when I need it! At the beginning people used to stare at me a little confused. Once, while I was eating, a colleague approached me. He has just bought himself some pizza, looked at me and asked “Why are you eating this?”… I wasn’t surprised at all, and answered back “ The same reason, you are eating the pizza! I am hungry!”As time goes by, people got used to eat, and nowadays even some of my friends bring their own food and make better food choices!
Do you really care so much about what other people think? If you knew how rarely people even care to think about you, you wouldn’t bother so much about their opinion! Besides that which is more important to you? Your health or other people’s opinion? I chose my health! People who do not respect my choices, don’t matter! And those that matter, respect my choices, even if they do not like them!
4. You can’t cook
“You can’t cook?”. I love saying that there isn’t I can’t, but only I don’t want! What does it mean, that you can’t cook? When you were little, I guess you couldn’t walk, but you learned how to do it! You couldn’t read, but you still managed to learn it! You can’t cook, then learn to do it! Cooking ain’t boring! It can be a lot of fun, and it can be a great way to stay away from everyday problems. Plus it doesn’t take that much time, as you thought!
I am not forcing you to cook meals that take a lot of time. The healthier is the food you are eating, the faster you will prepare it, because it doesn’t require frying and all the other stuff! If we add a little planning in the kitchen you will be perfect! You can prepare the souse for the meat, from the night before, so when you wake up you will have time to leave it in the oven. Thus while you are dressing, taking a shower or drinking coffee , the meat will be preparing.
Once a friend of mine explained me how she “doesn’t have time to boil eggs”! Ok, let me repeat that one, so I can understand it. “Doesn’t have time to boil eggs!” How much time does it take? Just put the eggs on the hot-plate, and boil them for 5 minutes! During that time you do not need to stay above the eggs and meditate! They will boil by themselves!
5. You think that healthy eating is only for those willing to lose weight
People who are blessed to be thin, usually eat a lot of junk food, because it doesn’t harm their appearance. Healthy doesn’t mean losing weight. Yea, if you eat clean you will probably lose the extra pounds. Eating healthy tough is for everybody, because its main purpose is to make you feel better and energetic! Only because the food you are eating doesn’t affect your appearance, doesn’t mean it is not harming your body! That’s why healthy eating is for everybody!
