
The New Year just started, and with its beginning, probably most of you are full of enthusiasm to do wonders and change the world, change who they are and everything that did not please them during the past year! Everybody is making new year’s resolutions: “To lose 10 pounds”; “To work out more often”; “To eat healthier”; “To be more organized!”; “To take better care of my health!” and so on.
Did you make a New Year’s resolution?
I did not! I don’t make “New Year’s resolutions” anymore! And not because I am a mediocre person, who does not care what is gonna happen! I don’t set such goals, because they are not real! They are not something we truly want! Just give it a thought! If you really wanted to change something about yourself and your lifestyle, would you really wait for the end of the year and the beginning of a new one, in order to accomplish it?
If you really want something that bad, why would you postpone it for tomorrow, for next year or a more appropriate moment? Usually, when your goals and desires are true( real), you work hard for them on a daily basis, trying to achieve them as soon as possible… without “tomorrows” or “it Is not the right moment”!
Besides that a goal, set in this way “This year I will lose 10 pounds”; “This year I will start eating healthy”, sounds more like an obligation, than an inner necessity! Something that you do, just because it fits in the common sense, and once again trying to fit in the norm, you are focusing on your disadvantages, and by turning them into a goal, you are just emphasizing on them, making them stand out and define you!
Most new year’s resolutions are not realistic. Just bold desires, a huge precipice between the place you are right now, and the place you want to be!
Stop trying to fit your life and your personality into a frame! No matter if it is gonna be just a time frame!
You DON’T HAVE TO lose 10 pounds this year; YOU DON’T HAVE TO start eating healthy and you DON’T have to workout! The question is do you really want it?
I don’t have a new year’s resolution! I don’t have such, because I do not need the right time or the right situation, so I get the opportunity to accomplish my goals!
I don’t have such goals, because every morning when I wake up, I decide that for the rest of the day I want to do the best for myself and for everybody else!
And the best for me, means taking care of my health, which definitely means eating healthy, working out, reading and surrounding myself with positive people!
And this is not my goal for this year or the year after that, or for whatever occasion you could think of!
For me every day is a new beginning, an opportunity to make better choices and by doing them, to improve the quality of my life and feel satisfaction!
To do the best for myself and everybody else… not because I HAVE TO, but because I feel the inner necessity to do it! Because I see and I realize how this choice makes me feel EVERY SINGLE DAY!
I assure you that if you wake up with the desire to do the best for yourself and people around, you won’t need new year’s resolutions, in order to lose weight, to eat healthy, to respect yourself and people in your community… because all of this is just a consequence of your choice to do the best!
