Very often, probably because of the fact that most people work out with the only goal to look better, some muscles are left neglected, which leads to muscle imbalances, which on the other hand leads to a lot of unwanted pain and bad posture!

Trainees usually focus in the so called “mirror muscles”, and by this I mean the muscles you can easily see in the mirror, when you look at yourself! 😉 This makes me think about something, my grandfather used to tell me when I was younger- “When a woman gets dressed, she should take a look at her back side, not just on the front!: Back then I did not understand these words, but today I realize how meaningful is this sentence!

Not only that, a well shaped booty and hamstrings make every piece of clothing look stunning on your body, but they are mandatory, if you want to have less lower back pain and improve your posture!

The reasons to think over the way you train and start focusing more on your posterior chain- the erectors, your butt, your hammies, your calfs, are a lot, but some of them are as follows:

1.A good balance between the anterior and the posterior chain is the base of a good posture and less pain

In this post ( read HERE) about deep squats and half squats, I explained the role of the anterior and the posterior chain, and how they are both balancing each other and what happens when one of them is stronger!

But with a hand on my heart, I will promise you that if you have a strong butt ;), strong hamstrings and if you train your erectors, you will save yourself a lot of lower back pain, you will improve your posture and you will be a lot more functional!

2.If you want to look good and sexy, you will take care not just for the look on your front side, but on the back side as well

Yes! A nice, curvy, strong butt and hamstrings, as I already mentioned, make every piece of clothing fit perfectly!

I want to pay special attention to women! I do not know who made you believe, that a good appearance is the equivalent of a skinny body! This is a notion, which is trusted just in women magazines! But if you really care, ask every man and I am sure that he will tell you, that the curves on a woman’s body are what makes her even more attractive and sexy! And what could be better, than your curves which are the result of proper, hard workouts with weights! What could be better than a well shaped, athletic, woman’s body?

3.Movements which hit your posterior chain are some of the most satisfying exercises

Nothing could compare to deadlifts!(read HERE) There is something mighty in you being strong enough, to pick up a heavy weight from the floor! Besides that the way this movement makes you feel every muscle on your body, contributes further to the satisfaction!

Swings(read HERE)… ah,this kettlebell! If you haven’t had an acquaintance with it, you couldn’t understand me, but you have no idea what this piece of steel could do for your body! In the gym you are gonna hate the kettlebell, when it makes your butt and hammies “burn”, but when you start seeing the results on your body, it will become one of your favorite workout equipments!

Good mornings… hm, why is it called this way? Probably there is something to do with what you feel the morning, after you did this exercise! Your hammies are gonna feel loaded and you are gonna wonder how such a “funny” movement could have such a tremendous effect!

Hip thrusters… an exercise which trainees rarely do, and the once who dare to include it in their program are getting some weird looks and funny remarks!

I think that the association, which most people staring you, are making is similar to the association they will make, when thanks to this exercise you get nice and sexy curves on your body!

There are a bunch of exercises you could do to train your posterior chain! I just want to make you pay more attention to it! It will be worth the effort! 😉
