People often forget that the things that make us successful in one area of our life have the potential to make us successful in other areas of life! I’ve noticed that principles which apply in life, could be referred also to business, sports, nutrition, relationships and so on.
I often hear people claiming “ I am the best in my area, but when it comes to working out, I am missing it all”
“I am the best event planner, but when it comes to my own schedule, I have a hard time getting everything straight.”
Truth is that all these long, fancy explanations are just plain excuses! When people fail to be good at something, they try masking their failure with an ugly excuse!
We find time to plan our daily meetings, but we somehow fail to plan our daily meals!
We can get out of our comfort zone and work a little longer in order to finish a big project, but we fail when it comes to pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone in the gym!
We have plenty of time to watch a two hour movie, but we fail to fit one hour workouts!
We are the best at finding solutions, when there is some kind of crisis in the office, but we always look for excuses when it comes to our personal life!
We always find money to spend, when it comes up to partying, but we always find healthy eating to be too expensive!
We spend years reading and learning to become the best doctor, but we fail to take a month and master the technique of a movement!
We are committed when it comes to our boss, but we forget what commitment is when it comes to our coach!
We are the best at caring about our children’s heath, but we forget to care about our own health!
We love staying in our comfort zone. We’d do everything to avoid experiencing new things and going through a change. Truth is that everything that makes you successful in one area of your life has the potential to make you successful in other areas! You just need to forget the difficulties, the obstacles and the differences! You need to focus on the similarities!
What is it that makes you the best teacher? Your commitment to the students? The fact that you are always thirsty for knowledge? The passion with which you go to work every day? Well commitment, passion and desire are three things that could be applied in every field and I assure you they will take you far!
What kind of person are you? Do you let differences scare you or do you use your experience and apply it in every area of your life?
