„No matter what I write, the true meaning is left somewhere beyond the ink, beyond the limitations of the paper.”- Yana Kremenska
She was walking on the dark alleys in the park. She was alone and somebody on her place would be afraid of the silence, the fears that were stalking behind the bushes, of the bareness, which “inhabit” the surroundings. But what could be darker than the worries, which occupied her mind? What could be more terrifying than the thoughts that were screaming in her head?
She was walking without noticing anybody or anything. She was carried in another world. A world full of shades, pain and disappointment.
And who is she? She doesn’t have a name. She, could be I, or even some of you!
Seems as if we live in two parallel worlds. One, which is real. The one which is reality itself, but we rarely take the time to visit it. And the second one, which is a fruit of our illusion. A fruit of our thoughts, prejudices, fears and disappointments. A world which we turned to and rarely something in the reality is worth the effort to take a look at the real, to take a look at the truth.
The most suffering is caused by the problems, we concoct. Almost always, what bothers us, what we are afraid of is so much more insignificant, than it seems in our imagination.
Have you ever thought about a fire burning in the forest? The smoke is spreading around, taking huge space. If you observe from a distance, you create an illusion that there is a huge fire burning. You panic and you just observe from the side, and the clouds of smoke are surrounding your body, soaking in your clothes and making you choke.
And then a brave man comes. The person who realizes that the “space” of the smoke, does not correspond with the size of the flames. A person who confidently goes through the smoke and reaches the flames, which in reality turn out to be a small, insignificant pile, which could be easily extinguished… for now!
The longer you let the fire burning and the smoke to blur your vision, the more you give the fire, the opportunity to spread and the bigger the opportunity you give it, to cause devastating consequences.
Fire and smoke… something like the problem and the illusion about the problem.
Sometimes we are scared just from the smoke, which is spreading around, just because we allow it to blur our vision and we are too scared to go closer to the flames and extinguish them, while the fire hasn’t grown bigger.
Usually the problem is not as big, as it seems. Actually we are the once who give it a huge meaning, and we are the once who stay from the side, observing it as just eyewitnesses. We analyze the terrifying picture and the irreversible consequences, that will inevitably follow. And yet, we rarely find the courage to go through the clouds of smoke and just solve the problem- extinguish the flames.
What makes life difficult are not the problems themselves. What makes it difficult is our refusal to solve the problems. What brings the most suffering is the dismay and the panic, that we allow to take over us, as well as the inadequate attitude we have!
