My post today might look a little boring. But in reality it is something really simple, and really important, but most of us do not pay enough attention to it and fail to understand its huge role in the way we feel and look.
Unbelievable, but the mere fact, the contemporary man has earned a lot, when it comes to achievements in the material world, but he has lost the most valuable thing- the connection with his own body and the ability to read the signals it sends.
Sometimes I really wish, I could properly interpret each symptom, that my body sends me. Because your body never lies. It always warns you, that something is wrong and that if we do not take care for the problem, the consequences will be costly.
Today I will direct your attention towards thirst and hunger. You can’t imagine how often people fail to defer between thirst and hunger. Some researches point that about 40% of people, mistaken thirst with hunger.
There are a couple reasons for this. Thirst, provokes the same reaction in your body, as hunger does. The reason behind it, is that the signals for thirst and hunger are controlled by the same region in your brain- the hypothalamus. Hypothalamus, helps your nervous system to communicate with your endocrine system, which includes- organs, glands and hormones, and besides that it is responsible for the regulation of body functions, which should keep the inner environment stable.
When your stomach is empty, hormones are being released, which in turn signal for hunger. The hypothalamus receives these signals and in response it communicates with the nervous system that it is “Food time!”.
Nowadays the most widely spread beverage- water is the rarest to be consumed. Most people, prefer drinking juices or soda, when they are thirsty. And this kind of drinks can not hydrate your body properly.
You are probably thinking “ Why is it such a big deal?”. It is a fact that a big percent of the human body consists of water. Water is required for the proper functioning of your body- for digestion, metabolism, blood pressure and so forth.
Besides that I am sure, that you could drastically decrease the unwanted food intake, by drinking more water. This way, when you are thirsty, you will give your body what it wants- water, and not excess amounts of food, which will be just stored as fat.
Try it! After you have eaten just an hour ago, but you feel as though hunger is kicking back in, drink a cup of water and wait for 5-10 minutes. You will soon realize that you don’t need food and that the feeling of dizziness and weakness is gone. Just because your body was not “hungry”, but thirsty.
I know that sometimes it is pretty annoying to carry water with you, everywhere you go, but it is so worth the effort. I assure you that if you always have water on your desk or in your bag, you will drink water more often, and you will stay away from the desperate tries to kill thirst with food.
A well hydrated body, in combination with good, quality food, will help you do wonders, when it comes to feeling well and looking great.

Hi, Ines:)
I would like to ask about your opinion on drinking water while eating. Many people usually do that, I have come upon with information that it is very harmful for the stomach, but I also read a couple of articles that say exactly the opposite. I am really looking forward to your answer:)
