It’s time for a healthy, delicious, Sunday recipe. I remember that when I used to be in the States, cinnamon rolls were a must. Back then, I couldn’t care less what I was eating, so I had pretty bad eating habits. Nowadays cinnamon rolls ( the traditional one) are not on my menu. That’s why here is a great, raw recipe for cinnamon rolls.
Ingredients:
For the dough
250 grams almonds
150 grams ground flax seed
1-2 table spoons honey
For the filling:
150 grams dates
150ml. water
2 tbsp cinnamon
1 tbsp coconut or butter
1/4 tsp salt
2-3 table spoon raisins
a handful of raw cashew
Directions:
Blend the ground flax seeds with the nuts until a flour like consistency is formed.
Add honey and process.
Remove the dough from the food processor, and place between two large sheets of wax paper. If the dough is too thick, add some water.
Using a rolling pin, flatten into a large square .
Then puree dates, water, cinnamon, coconut oil/butter, and salt into a thick paste.
Spread this evenly over your dough, and sprinkle with raisins and chopped cashew.
Roll the dough into a tight cylinder.
Place your roll in the fridge to set for about half an hour.
