Beti's lunch 🙂

Today I had the intention to write about something totally different. But while I was eating my favorite breakfast of eggs, butter and veggies, thinking how delicious it is and how I could eat this forever, these words passed through my mind: “ I can’t follow this diet. I can’t eat the same thing every single day.”

Then, I thought that I don’t see my food as being boring. I’ve said it before but variety in your nutrition depends on your abilities in the kitchen. You could prepare a lot of different meals, with the help of just 3-4 eggs and different veggies and meats.

But this is not so important. What is important is why do people search for such a variety in their nutrition? I thought about my favorite comparison with cars. If we accept the fact that our body and a car are like two machines, which need fuel in order to work, cars usually need just one type of fuel. Sometimes they can function using two different types. Keeping this in mind you won’t put diesel in a car, that runs on gas, just because you felt like putting a different fuel. For you, putting fuel in your car, is with the goal of helping it function so it can serve you better. And from then on you drive it so you can go to work, on a vacation, for a walk, to the mountain or just drive around the streets, on a beautiful evening.

Isn’t it the same with your body? Why are you searching so desperately for a big variety in your meals? Isn’t it batter to put the “proper fuel type” in your body, so it can function better and serve you just the way you wish? To be in perfect health, so you can give yourself the variety you are searching for by taking long walks, running, swimming, going to the mountain and etc.

The sooner you realize, that when your body is in good health, when you give it what it needs in order to function properly, the more energetic you will feel and the more strength you will have to perform different activities, and the sooner you will find the variety you are so desperately searching for.

While you are searching for variety in your nutrition and while you are looking on food, just as a mean of entertainment and a mean to feel pleasure, the more you become a slave of food and the sadder and more unsatisfied you feel from life.

And here, I just want to add, for those of you who are going to tell me that healthy means feeling pleasure from your food… trust me, healthy food is delicious! Take a look at the pictures below and I am sure that just by looking at them, you are gonna start feeling hungry.

And if you call this boring, you have some serious problems! 😉
