„Likewise, there is no difference in the person who intends to do things differently and the one who never thinks about it in the first place. Have you ever considered how often we judge ourselves by our intentions while we judge others by their actions? Yet intention without action is an insult to those who expect the best from you.” Andy Andrews
What did you intend to do yesterday? And what about last week? What did you intend to do today? Or I may better ask you, how often, do you really take actions to carry out, what you intend to do?
I also have moments like that. I play a plot in my mind, with the things I want to do; what I plan to achieve; the tasks I have to complete. Sometimes I spend more time thinking about how and what I would do, than it would take me in reality, to actually carry out the particular task!
How often do you catch yourself not acting, according to your intentions, because you are seized with fear and doubt, if you are gonna succeed? How often do you give up on what you want to achieve, just because it seems too complicated?
The truth is that doubts dispel, only when you take real actions! Sometimes I postpone something, that I’d like to do, just because in my mind, I am constantly talking myself out of it- how it Is not the right moment; how I am not ready to do it yet; how complicated it is and so forth. Then, there comes a moment, when I just deafen my thoughts. A moment when just out of the silence, I decide that right now Is the moment to act, and that today I am gonna try and do it, and if it doesn’t go smooth, I will just postpone it for later!
And do you know what turns out? That in reality it is not that complicated! It turns out, that just taking the first step is complicated. Then, you somehow get “lost” in the action itself, in doing what you aim for and everything just happens- sometimes with ease, sometimes with a little more effort!
This is applicable for everything- workouts, studying, work. It is not the process itself, which is complicated, but mostly daring to start acting!
But every time, when the beginning seems hard and the goal unachievable, remember what Andy Andrews said: “Yet intention without action is an insult to those who expect the best from you.” Then, remind yourself who is the person, who would always expect the best from you! I hope that without giving it a thought, you’ve realized that this person is YOU!
By postponing your happiness, by postponing your goals, by postponing to do what brings you satisfaction, you are offending YOURSELF! You are the one who puts limits on you! You are the one who doesn’t allow yourself to live, according to your potential!
When your thoughts are whispering, that your intentions can’t be carried out, remember for the previous time, when something seemed complicated! Remind yourself how after you dared to act, you wondered why in the world did you postpone it for so long! Then, obtain from that energy, determination and faith and never hesitate to act!
